State revenues made up for lost ground in February, Secretary of Administration Jeb Spaulding said with the release of the state’s monthly income report.

The General Fund came in 3.23 percent ahead of its monthly target, thanks in large part to higher than expected personal income tax collections. A boost from rooms and meals and insurance premium taxes also helped edge the fund closer to its year-to-date target of $833.9 million. At $833.64 million, it’s about a quarter-million dollars, or 0.03 percent shy.

The interactive visualization below illustrates how that compares to the state’s other major funds for education and transportation, dating back to July 2011, the start of Fiscal Year 2012.

Each fund is comprised of several revenue streams, which are visualized below to illustrate their comparative contributions to the funds and their revenue trends over time.

“Overall, there were some positive indicators in the February revenue results,” Spaulding said, “and barring external headwinds beyond our control, we expect continued economic and revenue growth going forward, consistent with projections.”
